"Unfortunately because you are not the first named insured on the policy, the request to cancel has to be confirmed by the first named insured. I explained this in the email. I'm sorry you are disappointed, but as I described, I stopped your payment so nothing will be paid. Just need the first named insured to confirm it. Also, the pricing you have with Progressive is actually higher than what you had with us and your new policy with Progressive has less coverage. I understand your desire to cancel the policy and it will be completed as soon as the first named insured confirms the request. If you need anything else, I am happy to help. I do appreciate the time you were insured with State Farm. I spoke to your mom and she confirmed the request to cancel the policy. Policy cancellation request was submitted. Thank you. I believe it's important to set the record straight. The policy was your mom's policy before she added you as a second named insured. As the first named insured, your mother has the ultimate control over what happens to the policy. I received a voicemail message that I have saved from your mother advising me not to change anything because you did not communicate with her and to wait for her instructions before making any changes. As the 2nd named insured, your requests do not override the 1st named insured's request. However within 5 hours of your original request (after normal work hours) I was able to reach your mother to confirm it was ok to cancel the policy. As for the pricing. Same coverage with the State Farm policy is less than your new Progressive policy. If you would like details, I would welcome a phone conversation. "
